Latest Updates from Our Project:

Solo mode, more leaders’ abilities and the dreamed 5th flock
almost 3 years ago – Sun, May 23, 2021 at 11:07:45 PM

Hi Kiwi Island!

The next SG will unlock new abilities for Skully, Zen, Burbus, and Chopan. We want to know your suggestions.

Now, it is time to show you the Chopan abilities. You can imagine Chopan as a bowling bowl. Chopan can advance up to 3 hexes and push all the Kiwi tokens between the starting hex and the ending hex.

What about Burbus? Burbus has two companions in this ability. Burbus can jump up to two hexes and push all the Kiwi tokens in the landing hex. Then you will place a new Kiwi token in the starting hex and in the ending one.

Which new abilities do you want to see in the game?

Solo Mode

Are you prepared to defeat the Kiwi Bot? Ruben has designed an interesting challenge for you. For the solo mode you will set up a 2 player game and you'll push against the Kiwi Bot during 4 seasons. Your main objective will be winning the 2 objectives card for each season (remember in the standard game there is only one card per season).

The Kiwi bot actions are activated taking into account the Solo Mode Cards. Depending on the kind of action card and the slot where it's played, the Kiwi bot could push you and beat you.

The 5th Flock

There have been a lot of abilities in this update. Could you imagine using your leader's ability without the once-per-season restriction? It sounds OP but fun, don't you think? Well, we want you to have a lot of fun. So we want to show you the asymmetrical side of the 5th Flock.

Work in progress*

It seems like a dreamed ability, but you already know this, remember your uncle's saying: "With great push-power comes great Kiwi fruit hungry"

Ok Kiwi Tribe, leave us your abilities suggestions in the comments, and have a great Sunday! The next week The Final Chow Down will be Kiwi explosive!!! Kweeep!!!

Changes to offer you the best campaign experience
almost 3 years ago – Sat, May 22, 2021 at 01:10:50 AM

Hi Kiwi Tribe!

During the previous day we have been listening to your feedback regarding the campaign and game.

We believe our Kickstarter campaigns should be a unique experience, a celebration, to get the best possible game and develop with your help and insight.

Today we want to share the changes committed to the campaign and game to receive the final days of the campaign.

We want this game to arrive to every corner of the world and it is thanks to your trust and support that this Kickstarter edition (and any future retail edition) will exist. So we are making the commitment to make shipping as friendly as possible.

There are more actions we implemented. For example, the list of available Add-ons has been included in the campaign. Remember, you can edit your pledge now and you will see your full credits in the Pledge Manager, and there you will choose your add-ons.

The Community goals were updated too. We count all the CG in all the Social Media, mixed them to release more cards, and built new ones (easier to achieve) for the final days. Please help us to spread the Kiwi and unlock free content for the game.

Speaking about the Creature Kingdoms universe, we tallied the votes and the next game will feature Panduga and Atlanfish in the CK series.  This new game will allow you to use miniatures from previous and future games from Creature Kingdoms. But we will talk again about that once Kiwi Chow Down enters to production. Right now, the only confirmed fact is the next one:

Many backers let us know that you were still interested in the original plan so we figured ”Why not both” and so, we want to bring more content for your support across the first 3 games of the Creature Kingdoms series.

Finally, we want to thank you, your suggested strategy worked! We did it! Welcome the new leader miniature for Kiwi Chow Down!!!

Work in progress. Art and sculpt are not final.

This leader will include its leader card for Kiwi Chow Down but also a Machine card to be playable in War for Chicken Island.

It's time to push for the next leader's abilities!!! Which will give you more options, replayability, and new art! Kweeep!!!

Kweeeep pushing Kiwi Tribe!!!

Let's talk about Kiwi Leaders!
almost 3 years ago – Fri, May 21, 2021 at 10:48:29 AM

Hi Kiwi Tribe!

Yesterday, Kiwi Chow Down was picked as the Kickstarter game for the week by Tom Vasel on their The Dice Tower program Crowdsurfing. Here's the video:

That was very cool, Tom, thank you. All of you will be surprised by the Chow Down!

And now,

Here's come an update full of Kiwi leader's abilities!

Let us properly introduce Skully! The stories of the Kiwi Island tell that Skully once pushed a huge dinosaur. We don't know if the story is true, but Skully has won recognition on the island since then.

How to use the ability? Skully may move up to three hexes. Then you can push 3 Kiwi tokens (size 2 or lower) up to 3 hexes.

The furthest push in Kiwi Chow Down!

Have you ever imagine yourself moving Kiwi with your mind? We know this is a very wished ability in everybody's life; meanwhile,  you could use Zen and continue training until you get this skill by yourself. The teleport and telepathic powers make Zen a compelling character.

When you use Zen's ability, you must exchange position with other Kiwi tokens on the board. Then,  you may move up to 4 Kiwi tokens (any size) from adjacent hexes.

Choose wisely!

What more can we say about the Leader miniatures? They are not only powerful, but they're also enjoyable, and they to paint. Here's an example!

Thanks Jabb for your Kiwi passion! Kweeeep!!!

The Add-On push!

We hear your comments, and we're planning the push for the final 72 hours. We are pretty sure we will unlock all our planned SG. However, feeding the campaign at this moment is important if we want the Kiwi Chow Down explosion! We will use the following move. The 5th Player Add-on will be unlocked, if you are interested in it, you could raise your pledge by $10usd, which will help us reach more SG faster.

The 5th player's color is black. We can grant the asymmetrical power for this flock is absolutely crazy!!! Be careful with your Kiwi dreams, they could become true!!!

We think this wouldn't be enough if the next SG is not a big one. So we decided to add a new one:

It's for you Burbus, go for it!

The team thought that the new SG was OK, but we want more Kiwi Power... so, we decided to reorder the next stretch goals. Please take a look! Kweeeep!!!

Kweeepp!!! Did I see right? Is the 120K SG correct?

Yes, you saw it well! It's time for going nuts! We want to have the Riding Kiwi ready for showing it to you for the last days of the campaign. So, we need your ideas for the next miniature. Which dinosaur (or extinguish species) should be riding a Kiwi? Leave your best push in the main comment section! Kweeep!!!

Finally, please remember we can do this without your help. Keep pushing the green button on Kicktraq and keep spreading the Kiwi through the Community Goals.

Kweeeep!!! We're motivated, and we're ready to read your ideas Kiwi Tribe!!!

What's behind Kiwi Chow Down?
almost 3 years ago – Wed, May 19, 2021 at 03:28:51 AM

Hi Kiwi Island!

We have new reviews for Kiwi Chow Down. The first one is from Boardgame Mechanics. Take a look at Jason's thoughts:

The next one is in Spanish and is from La Matatena, a top-rated YouTube channel in Latin America hosted by Zapata and Lora.  We loved to hear they had a preconception about the game, and after had played it, they changed their mind and enjoyed the Chow Down experience!

What's behind Kiwi Chow Down?

We have the answer. It well knows an image can say more than a thousand words... What about 3 words and an image?

The mystery was solved by Musgo the Kiwise!

Yes, Kiwi Tribe, you'll fall in love with Kiwi Chow Down because it is a family game easy to teach, but with a deep tactical development during the game... with bombastic fun! We aren't the only ones who say this! Kweeep!!!

During a Kiwi Chow Down game, as an example, you could follow run a strategy based on building nests for claiming benefits during the next seasons, feeding or exploding Kiwi for gaining more domain markers to claim victory points at the end of the game. In the last round, you must plan your moves carefully to reach the hex you are looking for... but wait, where is the bombastic? Here is it!!!

Chopan pushing ability! Be careful... or learn how to swim!

The leaders' abilities will give you tons of fun! We will show you a detailed description of all of them in the next update.

In the Detestable team, we have a strong commitment to the gameplay, so the game has more "layers of depth." The asymmetrical flocks will allow you to play with dominant strategies. The Power Expansion will give you access to surprises like a size 4 Kiwi or... could you imagine a pushing nest? On the other hand, the Goal Expansion will give you secret objectives to gain more victory points at the end of the game.

And sorry, Kiwi Tribe, for saying this until now. Have you seen that we have a modular board? Be careful with the island shape you want to build; it may be a huge risk for your not swimming Kiwi.

Set up the island as you wish! Kweeeep!!!

Finally, we don't know if you already saw this Ruben's video.  He talks about all the design journey for landing on the Kiwi Island (it's in Spanish, but you can turn on the subtitles).

Remember pushing the Community Goals; they help us a lot for spreading the Chow Down! In the same way, they unlock new free content for the game.

Thanks for the push Artifice, Paco and Lis!

See you tomorrow! Kweeeep!!!

Kiwi Chow Down Play-to-Win Event!
almost 3 years ago – Mon, May 17, 2021 at 09:28:27 PM

Hi Kiwi Tribe! A new week on the island begins!

As we mentioned in the last update, today, Double Exposure will run a Play to Win Event in Tabletopia. They will have their Envoy Heralds for teaching you How to play Kiwi Chow Down. Help us spreading the push, and give it a try!

The Mecha Kiwi Chicken

Yesterday we talked with Heriberto Valle about Kiwi Chow Down, Dodos riding Dinos, and his other projects. Meanwhile, he was sculpting the Mecha Kiwi Chicken, and here's the result!

Heriberto took the Gnomosapiens concept art...
... and turned it into this!
Work in progress

The sculpt is not final. William will review the details, and soon, we'll have the final model. We have 10 more days for the campaign, enough time for showing you a 3D printed sample. Stay tuned!

What do you think about Gnomosapiens and Heriberto's work? We want to hear you; leave us your comments!!!

This will be a great week!!! Kweeeep pushing!!! Remember, we can feed the campaign through the Community Goals!!!
