Hi Kiwi Tribe!

There are great news on Kiwi Island! First of all, we celebrate a Kiwi Chow Down prototype copy that will arrive soon in New Zealand. Nikki and Void will help us pushing the Kiwi. We know kiwi is the national bird for Aotearoa (New Zealand) –that's why we are having cultural consultancy to be respectful with this project. We want this game to arrive to such a beautiful country in great quantities, but as NZ backers have pointed out, shipping is too high in comparison to the pledge cost, so Draco Studios is subsidizing $10usd on shipping fee for every Kiwi Chow Down pledge  to New Zealand. The new shipping rate to NZ is $14 - $18usd instead of 24-28usd. If you are a Kiwi or know a Kiwi, help us to spread the word!

3 actions you can do to increase exposure + Summary of Creature Kingdoms plans

Hi Kiwi Island! 

Today was a day full of love. Kickstarter recognized Kiwi Chow Down with the "Project we love" label (you can see it in the left corner below the main video). This is great news! More people around Kickstarter will notice our project! Kweeep!

As some of you told us, we detected a downgrade in the project positioning last day. So, we have identified 3 actions we must do for getting a big expushure boost! These 3 actions, plus the "Project we love" label, will push our project closer to our fully stretched game goal.

 1. Explode the Community Goals

These activities are fun and important because they give us exposure in social media within bigger circles than the board gaming community. It's a great way to spread the word about how much we're enjoying this kiwi adventure! In addition, you should remember the CG unlocks more FREE content for the game: Crossover cards! With these you will be able to use your minis War for Chicken Island or Dodos Riding Dinos in Kiwi Chow Down or viceversa!

Remember to include the hashtag #kiwichowdown and share with public settings so we and other people can see your posts. 

In previous campaigns we have seen Chicken cookies, Dino costumes, Dodo drawings... it is a lot of fun and will help us spread the word, welcome more people to the Kiwi tribe, and unlock more stretch goals!

2. Click every day "Visit Project" in Kicktraq

   We can't explain this better than our dear backer Asmoroth: "Do the green button thing." Thanks to backers like Guido Pierloz, Jonhy, El Skutto, and Abby, who constantly remember in the main comments section about entering to Kicktraq and click Visit project. We want to tell you: Kweeeeep doing this!
 

This action is helpful because if we have an upper place in the Kicktraq hotlist, more eyes from potential backers will look at us!

 

3. Like/Put Kiwi Chow Down content in BGG

As you may know, Board Game Geek is the reference site for all the board gaming community. We detected we can improve our presence on the site. If we increase the number of fans, comments, images (could be the same as the community goals), and videos, our presence in the BGG community will arise! The next Creature Kingdoms game (past livestream)

 Last Friday, during the Kiwi Chow Down Show, William showed us some early exploration designs for the next game that will merge the components from all Creature Kingdoms games (past, current, and future). You can see the replay with all the details below, or keep scrolling down to read the summary.

• Dragons vs Marshmallows 
• Catquistadors
• Panduga (Panda pirates sailing in giant turtle ships)
• Atlanfish
• Candy continent
• Vampire Swans and Ducks in a terror theme like "Quackvania" 
• Other birds (like Fashion Flamingos or Toucans)
• Polaria (polar animals)
• Pi-Rats (suggested by you)

 We want to start planning this game with you right after Kiwi Chow Down development is fully locked. Which concept you like the most? Remember, the next game will include the merge system to add the previous Creature Kingdoms games like War For Chicken Island, Dodos riding Dinos, and Kiwi Chow Down, and we hope much more games to come.

The 6 digits milestone: Media and The future of Creature Kingdoms

Hi Kiwi Island! 

We've reached the six-digit milestone! The Tribe is growing, and now there are more than 1,500 kiwi on the Island! That deserves a big kweeep!!! Thank you all!!!

We want to ask for your help. We are looking for even more reviewers for Kiwi Chow Down. We have prototypes traveling worldwide; one of them will land in Poland tomorrow, and there are at least 3 reviewers interested in giving it a try. Do you know any content creator that could be interested in Kiwi Chow Down? We need more help with French, German, and Italian. And we would definitely love to have reviewers in New Zealand. Let us know about your best pushes!

Another important notice to our New Zealand backers: We are reading your comments and we definitely want this game to arrive with all of you! After all, kiwi is your national bird. So we are calculating how to subsidize shipping fee to you. Stay tuned but start spreading the word in case your friends want to join in the No Reward tier for now, and upgrade the pledge as soon as we reveal new shipping cost to NZ.

The Kiwi Chow Down Show

If you are a Chicken or a Dodino backer, you may know we love spoilers. From the three islands that make up the Avian Archipelago, Kiwi are the ones who like the showdown the most. They are planning the launch of a YouTube Show.

Did anybody see this coming? Yes, Tribe, the Kiwituber will be streaming a show with more info about the project during the campaign. What time works best for you? Remember that our time zone is GMT -6 (CT). Whether you use GMT -6 or your own time zone, please make sure you mention it to your suggestion. Don't worry if you can not follow the stream live. We will record it and put it up on the Detestable Games YouTube Channel (and for sure, we'll make sure to post the link to the stream in the comment section when we have picked a time).

Kweeep Kiwi Tribe! 

Today is "Cinco de Kiwi," and we're still celebrating the strongest launch for a project in our team's history. Thanks again for your trust! The Harley Kiwi is drinking a Tekila Kiwigarita and has brought some gifts for you! 

There are two new cards for your Power & Goal expansion. Remember that you'll be able to play with one type of these cards or both types. You choose what kind of experience you want to play! 

But let's speak about the 2 recent gifts: 

• When we say Power Card, we mean POWER. You will be able to move all the opposing Kiwi leaders and activate the ability of one of them. That's a HUGE Chow Down!
• On the other Kiwi, this new Goal card gives you a personal objective to get more Mountain domains than the other players and earn 2 victory points at the end of the game.

The mini expansion includes 26 cards now!

Musgo joins the Chow Down

Congratulations! We unlocked a new leader miniature in the game: Musgo, the Eldritch Kiwi. Your game now has 5 different leaders. This character is one of the team's favorites. Its ability allows you to move to any hex in the island and push all the kiwi tokens in that hex. After resolving this, you draw a fruit counter from the bag. Beware the Musgo! Nobody is too far away!

Oh my Kiwi! Kiwait! It seems Musgo didn't come alone! What kind of Eldritch magic is this? It comes with two new season cards, and the Lord Kiwi Rules have also appeared!

At this point you may already know that Season cards sets a specific goal each round of the game. We believe these 2 cards are related to the size of your Kiwi tokens, but it is better to consult what the Lord Kiwi Rules have to say:

•  The criteria for the first card are the following: The player who has the most Level 3 Kiwi Tokens on the island board gets 1 Victory point (that player keeps the season card until the end of the game). All other players, in turn order, immediately place on the island board one Kiwi token from their flock board (if not available, from the reserve). 
•  The criteria for the second card are the following: The player who has the most Level 1 Kiwi Tokens on the island board gets one Domain marker, and instantly grows one Kiwi token of their own to the next level. All other players, in turn order, immediately place on the island board one Kiwi token from their flock board (if not available, from the reserve). 

Remember if there is a tie, the tied players must earn the second benefit, and unfortunately, the other players won't get any benefit during this season. So, watch out for your feeding moves!

Okay, our Lord, that's pretty clear! You're the best!

Which are the next explosions on our trip?

Ok kiwi tribe, following our previous update's analogy to the game, your support has fed the campaign and unlocked 3 stretch goals. Do you remember what happens in the game when you feed a level-3 kiwi token? That's right, the kiwi explodes!

We have a new set of stretch goals but these are even better since they include more content AND component upgrades together!

 We're still pursuing the same objective: achieving the most beautiful version of the game with much more replayability elements. It's something like the kiwi trip for the perfect balance.  When we reach (or sing?) the Final Chow Down, we'll have too much beauty and gameplay. We might explode ourselves!

Who is the Chicken that appeared on Kiwi Island?! When a Chicken crosses to an island in the Creature Kingdoms universe, it only means one thing: Meeeecha construction!!!

So, Kiwi Tribe, here's a big task for you. We need all your creakiwity! We want to hear your ideas so we can create the best mecha Kiwichicken miniature for Kiwi Chow Down! Please don't be shy; surprise us with your best push in the main comment section preferably, (comments in updates are lost of sight sometimes). If you like an idea you find in the comments, please give a +1 Kiwifruit reply. We'll make a final poll for the most commented ones.

Did you know? The Cluckthulhu and Yolk-Sothoth miniatures were backers' suggestions. The idea of a game with chickens riding dinosaurs was also a backer's suggestion. The last 2 stretch goal miniatures of Dodos Riding Dinos were voted by backers... WE LOVE DEVELOPING OUR GAMES WITH YOU! <3
